WP Club Rugby leagues heating up, DHL Team in action, coaching and education continues

This weekend sees close to one hundred and fifty club rugby matches across Western Province, including our WP Women’s clubs and DHL Women’s rugby teams, as well as the DHL WP Rugby U19 teams, in action.

Last week saw some close matches at the top of the table, with the match between Uni-Mil and Villagers likely being the highlight. Uni Mil came out on top with a 37-28 victory. This week, we have another exciting top-of-the-table clash as Brackenfell hosts Villagers. Brackenfell currently has a 50% win rate compared to Villagers’ 60%, but both teams are scoring an average of four tries per game, setting the stage for an exciting encounter.

Tygerberg will be riding high after their home draw against Durbel and now face a tough challenge against reigning Super League A champions, False Bay. Hamiltons, on the other hand, will look to bounce back from their draw against Brackenfell when they host Uni-Mil. The match between Kuila and St Georges promises to be a spectacular event with both the Kuila fans and Lulu Boy passionate fans supporting their teams.

In Super League B, SK Walmers remains unbeaten and hosts Kylemore, while All Saints and Hands and Hearts have a big showdown at Helderzicht Sport Grounds. Vineyards, coming off a win against Kylemore, will face a fresh Bellville side.

Super League C is packed with matches as Morningstar takes on Blue Stars, Albions faces Macassar, Kraaifontein battles Busy Bees, Goodwood plays against Masiphumelele, and Pniel Villagers meets Rangers.

Exciting clashes await in the Northern League 2023, including Sir Lowrians vs Windmeul United, Excelsior vs Corries, GB Pioneers vs Blakes, and Strand United vs Whistling Wheels.

The Southern League’s biggest clash features Rocklands and Retreat as these teams are fourther and fifth on the log with only a one point diffrence. Titans will face Northerns in another exciting match who is also on ten points on the log togther with Titans and Rocklands.

In the Paarl Region, Young Gardens will play against Riverstones, Paarl Rangers will face Allandale, Perel United will compete against Simondium, and Young Standards will clash with Lower Paarl in a highly anticipated matchup. Young Gardens is currently unbeaten on top of the log and Lower Paarl will be looking to show thier former champion pedigree.

Our WP Rugby Women’s Clubs return to action with a thrilling match between Brackenfell Ladies and Busy Bees Ladies, while Tygerberg Ladies hosts False Bay Ladies.

The DHL WP Rugby Women’s team will take on the Border Women’s Rugby team at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane, and the U19 DHL WP Rugby team will play against the Cell C Sharks U19 team at City Park, kick-off at 13:00 and all fans are welcome.
