This past weekend saw the finals of the WP Score Club Rugby Sevens roll out at the Kraaifontein Sports Grounds with St Georges being crowned as the overall winners.
St Georges ended up winning in the WP Score Sevens Cup finals against Helderberg (26-20) after beating Durbel (17-14) in the Cup semi-finals and Hamilton’s (28-10) in the Quarter finals before getting the day started with their first match against Gardens.
The Shield competition saw a win for Brackenfell as they took the win against Bellville (14 -12) having beaten Belhar (21-12) in the Shield Quarter Finals.
False Bay took the title in the Plate Final beating Hamilton’s (24-17 ) while the Bowl final was eventually won by Kylemore who beat Busy Bees in the final (26-21).
For St Georges this was yet another momentous occasion not only to be crowned as the WP Score annual Sevens Champions but also with the knowledge that the player of the tournament went to one of their super stars Ronaldo Daniels.
The WP Score Club Rugby Sevens was yet another successful fan filled few weeks of entertainment with the very best of our WP Clubs playing Sevens rugby to the fans delight.
