Score Western Province Club Rugby Sevens ready to go

The registrations for the Score Western Province Club Rugby Sevens have officially closed, with an impressive 35 teams set to compete in this year’s tournament. Mark your calendars—games kick off on 2 November 2024 and will run over four exciting weekends. A highlight to watch for is the annual team draw, happening on Wednesday, 30 October, at Newlands Stadium. This is when teams will be assigned to one of four pools, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense and thrilling series of matches.

This year’s lineup of competing teams features Albions, Atlantis, Bellville, Bishop Lavis, Brackenfell, Busy Bees, Collegians, Delft, Drakenstein, Eersterivier, Elsies River United, False Bay, Fisantekraal, Gardens, Goodwood, Hamiltons, Hands & Heart, Kraaifontein, Kuilsriver, Kylemore, Macassar, NTK, Peninsula, Pniel Villagers, Police, Silverleaf, St Georges, Strand, Strand United, Titans, Tygerberg, Union Milnerton, Villager, Whistling Wheels, and Young Peoples.

As a premier event on the Western Province Club Rugby calendar, the Score Sevens embodies the values of community support, development, and empowerment. For many clubs, it serves as an opportunity to showcase talent and maintain engagement after the league season. It’s a rare chance for clubs from different regions and divisions to compete, fostering both intense rivalry and camaraderie.

The tournament’s games will be held at a central venue, which makes it more accessible for sponsors, broadcasters, and fans. Teams will progress through the Plate, Bowl, Shield, and Cup sections, with the initial stage being the four-pool format. Score Energy Drinks and CTC Sports remain our primary partners, with Cape Rugby TV providing full coverage. Each team will don specially designed jerseys in Score Energy Drinks colours, manufactured by CTC Sport, adding a unique visual touch to the weekly Cape Rugby TV broadcasts.
