Lots of WP Club Rugby matches, top-of-the-log clashes, success for our DHL Western Province Rugby Women’s, and youth raring to go.

This week could see some interesting movement in the logs as we see plenty of teams within close positions of each other on the logs. Super League A sees a big derby between Helderberg and St Georges, and although Helderberg seems to have the upper hand on paper, we all know a derby can go in any direction. Helderberg will need to win by twenty points to top the log over UCT, while Uni Mil is up against Kuilsriver. A win for Uni Mil could mean that we have three teams on equal points at the top of the log after this weekend. There is a big match between UWC and Hamlets, with both teams desperate to get their first win for the season on the board. Tygerberg will be happy to be back home with the Tiere fans when they face Villagers.

After last week’s win for SK Walmers over Collegians, they remain top of the log in Super League B. But this week they face a determined Belhar, and as we know, both these teams are straight out of Super League A meaning this game could go in any direction. It’s a two and three clash between All Saints and Franschhoek, and both teams are also within striking distance of the number one position on the log.

Super League C this week sees twelve teams in action, and no doubt Van der Stell-Evergreens will be looking to increase their lead at the top of the log when they face Eersteriver. But they will also know that Goodwood is also looking to regain their top spot as they face Blue Jets. The Rangers versus Scottsdene fixture this week moves to JG Meiring High School due to field conditions.

In the Southern League, Atlantis, who are tied with Retreat at the top of the table, could secure individual top spot when they face Young Stars, as Retreat is off this weekend. Meanwhile, fans can expect a derby between Gardens and Callies this weekend, as Gardens are top of the log and Callies in third. This is, however, not a foregone conclusion as Elsies River United, who share the top spot, takes on Polisie at Terry Terblanche in Pinelands.

In the Northern League, the top of the table could move in any direction as there is only a four-point margin between the top three this week. Current leaders Sir Lowrians face Delft, second-placed Strand United face Excelsior, and third-placed Whistling Wheels face Blakes. The Metro League this week sees Faure up against Silverleaf, and in the Paarl region Allandale take on Violets Paarl.
