Last league chance for several clubs

With the final stretch of the season in full swing, this weekend’s fixtures promise high-stakes action across all leagues as clubs jostle for playoff spots, promotion, or survival. Several teams are coming off intense battles and will be looking to either maintain momentum or bounce back from recent setbacks.

In Super League A, UWC will be looking to build on their thrilling 40–34 win over Tygerberg just three days ago on 13/08/2025. They face Van Der Stel, who currently sit mid-table and will be eager to improve their 58.33% win rate. UCT, who lost 22–28 to Brackenfell on the same day, will aim to bounce back when they visit Hamiltons. Hamiltons, with a solid 66.67% win rate, will have the home ground advantage and are currently fourth on the log. Meanwhile, SK Walmers host Stellenbosch in a mid-table clash that could go either way. Stellenbosch, who edged Helderberg 29–26 last week, will be looking to keep that momentum going.

Super League B sees NTK hosting Primrose in what should be a competitive fixture. NTK, who beat Goodwood 29–12 seven days ago, will be confident at home. Primrose, however, are coming off a strong 36–21 win over CPUT and will look to continue their form. Hamlets will welcome Collegians, who are fresh off a dominant 46–19 win over Hands and Heart. Vineyards face Goodwood, who will be eager to recover from their recent loss. Hamediehs, who narrowly beat Macassar 26–25, will host CPUT in a match that could have implications for mid-table positioning.

In Super League C, Rangers will be looking to extend their good form after a convincing 41–7 win over Eersterivier last week. They host Busy Bees, who are also in form after a 41–29 victory over Strand. This matchup could be one of the highlights of the weekend in this division.

The Promotion League offers several exciting matchups. Rocklands, who lost 5–22 to Morning Star last week, will be aiming to bounce back against Raithby Universals, who are second on the log with a 75% win rate. Fisantekraal, still searching for their first win, face Masiphumelele, who are also struggling but have managed one win in five games. Blue Stars United, with a strong 75% win rate, will look to keep their promotion hopes alive when they host Watsonia, the current log leaders with a perfect 100% win rate. Morning Star, sitting mid-table, will look to build on their recent win when they face Sir Lowrians, who are second on the Northern League log and boast an 88.89% win rate.

In the Challenge Cup Pool A, Temperance-Cities will be looking to bounce back after their 15–26 loss to Albions last week. They face Thistles, who are bottom of the log with no wins and a 0% win rate. Silverleaf, who crushed Thistles 68–0 last week, will be confident when they host Manenberg Rangers, who narrowly beat Lagunya 10–8 in their last outing. With Silverleaf sitting second on the log with a 66.67% win rate, they’ll be favourites to take the points.
