City Park was packed on Saturday as rugby fans turned out in their thousands to witness the WPRFU Super League Finals. The day began with an exciting showcase of women’s rugby, setting the tone for an unforgettable celebration of the WP Club Rugby season.

In Super League A, Villagers were crowned champions after a strong 30–14 victory over Hamiltons. Their physical dominance and clinical finishing proved the difference in a high-quality final.

Super League B produced fireworks as Primrose powered past Franschhoek, 46–24, to lift the title. Their attacking flair and relentless pace ensured they secured the silverware in front of their jubilant supporters.
Over in Super League C, Young Peoples and All Saints delivered a thrilling contest, with Young Peoples ultimately triumphing 50–37 to take the crown. The pace of play and high-scoring action had the crowd on its feet from start to finish.
The third-place playoffs carried even more weight this year, as the winners earn the chance to challenge for promotion against higher league opposition. In Super League B, Kraaifontein edged Belhar 25–20 to secure third spot, setting up a crucial promotion/relegation clash with Helderberg from Super League A. In Super League C, Violets were too strong for Gardens, winning 35–20, which means they will now face Hamediahs in a do-or-die playoff for a place in Super League B.
From the women’s curtain-raisers to the final whistle of Super League A, City Park was alive with energy, passion, and community pride. It was a day that reminded everyone why WP Club Rugby is the heartbeat of Cape Town sport.
