The only undefeated teams in the season so far are SK Walmers in Super League B, Van der Stel in Super League C, Sir Lowrians in the Northern League, Elsies Rivier United in the City League, and Atlantis in the Southern League. Watsonia and Faure in the Metro League also remain unbeaten.
It’s worth mentioning that UCT is our top trie scoring senior team to date, with thirty-three tries, while SK Walmers currently holds the highest average tries scored per game with seven tries on average, having scored twenty-seven tries in just four games.
This weekend’s matches include Helderberg, who have two games in hand and aim to close the gap on Super League A log leaders UCT as they face third-placed Brackenfell. The match between False Bay and Villagers promises to be a crowd attraction, with False Bay coming off a strong win against Tygerberg and Villagers looking to bounce back after their recent loss to Uni-Mil.
While SK Walmers is performing exceptionally well in Super League B, Vineyard faces a tough challenge when these two teams meet this weekend. Although Vineyard has home ground advantage at Boy Louw Stadium, SKW has already proven their comfort in playing away. The logs in Super League B could witness significant shifts as CPUT, Belhar, and Bellville are all on thirteen points, just two points adrift from Strand on fifteen.
In Super League C, Van der Stel Evergreens aims to climb to the top of the log when they face Morning Star, while current log leaders Goodwood have a bye week.
The Northern League presents an exciting clash between Raithby Universals, sitting at no. 2 on the log with 21 points, and Strand United, currently at no. 3 with 20 points. The match will be held at Raithby sports grounds.
In the Southern League, fans can expect a thrilling game as Rocklands hosts Retreat. With Retreat second on the log and Rocklands unbeaten, this match is one to watch. With only five points separating the top four teams on the log, significant changes in rankings are possible. Young Wesleys, at five with 12 points, will face Titans, currently at three with 15 points, at Philipi.
In the Paarl Region, Young Gardens, still leading the log, aims to recover from their slip against Riverstones as they face former league champions Paarl Rangers, currently at no. 4 on the log. It will undoubtedly be a challenging encounter.
