African Bank boosts WP Club Rugby
The Western Province Rugby Union’s club competitions received a major boost when it was announced that African Bank will continue its relationship with WP club rugby.
African Bank last year sponsored the semi-finals and finals of WP’s club competitions and now the partnership will continue for the 2020 club rugby season with African Bank the official sponsor of WP Club Rugby. Philicia Robinson, National head, Workplace banking for African Bank, was looking forward to a fruitful partnership with WP Rugby with the aim on advancing lives.
“African Bank’s aim is to build a long-term relationship beneficial to both parties with the focus on financial well-being of all club rugby players.
“African Bank will provide financial education for members whenever they need the service. When members battle with their finances, they can go to any African Bank branch for assistance.”
Zelt Marais, WP Rugby Union’s President, said he was very happy for the continued relationship with African Bank. “We had a taste of what was to come last year when African Bank sponsored the semi-finals and finals of our club competitions, but to have them on board for the 2020 season is something special.
“We all know that times are tough and that the economy is battling, but we are extremely grateful to African Bank for showing that they care for our communities. We need more companies to follow African Bank’s example because with their support we can get more of the youth on the rugby field and away from gangsterism, drugs and crime.
“We are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with African Bank that is mutually beneficial for both parties.”
The WP Club Rugby League Competition officially kicks off on 4 April 2020.
