With some league positions already settled, the focus now shifts to the remaining battles for the top eight, final log places and survival. The bottom four teams in each competition face relegation, meaning every remaining result carries added importance.
Villager have already secured top spot in Super League A and cannot be caught on the log. They underlined their dominance with a commanding 50–9 victory over UWC on 8 August.
UWC and Primrose remain in the lower half and will be looking to improve their positions. Primrose suffered a narrow 36–33 defeat to Kuilsrivier last weekend and will now aim to respond.
UCT occupy eighth place and face a difficult challenge against second-placed Helderberg. Hamiltons, who are fifth, host Stellenbosch, who sit 11th. Union Milnerton versus Primrose will be important for the visitors as they look to steady their campaign.
Durbell face Tygerberg, while UWC take on Van der Stel. Tygerberg and UCT will also meet, with Villager hosting Stellenbosch in another fixture.
Super League B remains closely contested, with Belhar and Kraaifontein occupying the top two positions. Kraaifontein will take confidence from their 25–10 victory over Belhar on 8 August.
CPUT sit third after their 26–12 win over Goodwood, while Collegians are sixth following their impressive 52–14 victory over Bellville. NTK are fifth and face Collegians in an important contest, while fourth-placed Macassar host CPUT.
Hamediehs, who are 14th, face Hamlets, who sit 10th after their 68–22 victory over St Georges. Violets meet Vineyards, Hands and Heart face NTK and Goodwood take on CPUT as the teams continue to fight for their final positions and to avoid the bottom four.
Rangers remain the leading team in Super League C after their 38–13 victory over Sir Lowrians. Kylemore occupy third place, while Pniel Villagers are fourth. Gardens are fifth and Eersterivier sit sixth.
Rangers versus Kylemore is the standout fixture, bringing the league leaders up against one of the teams near the top of the table. Busy Bees host Raithby Universals, who impressed with a 41–27 victory over Strand United last weekend.
Caledonian Roses, who sit 16th, host Gardens in a fixture that will be important for both teams as they look to improve their positions and stay clear of the relegation places.
Blue Stars United continue to lead the Northern League, while Fisantekraal occupy second place. Blue Stars face a difficult away trip to Whistling Wheels, who are seventh and will be hoping to produce a major upset.
Fisantekraal versus Faure is another important fixture between two teams near the top of the table. Morning Star, who are fifth, host Gordons Bay Pioneers, while Stell/Cor travel to Cloetesville. Police Blackheath and Excelsior will also meet as both teams look to improve their standings.
The Central League is being led by Elsies River United, with Manenberg Rangers close behind them. Young Stars are third, while Silvertree and Northerns remain part of the chasing group.
Silverleaf host Elsies River United in a major challenge for the home side. Temperance-Cities face Manenberg Rangers, while Young Ideas meet Temperance-Cities in a fixture that could provide important momentum.
Bottom-placed Bishop Lavis face a difficult assignment against Young Stars as they continue their fight to avoid relegation.
Blue Jets and Retreat share the top two positions in the Southern League, with Masiphumelele occupying third place. Young Wesleys are fourth and Rocklands sit fifth.
Blue Jets host Lagunya, while Retreat travel to face Titans. Masiphumelele face bottom-placed Khayelitsha, who are still searching for their first points of the season.
Imiqhayi meet Rocklands, while Peninsula face Young Wesleys. Both fixtures could influence the battle for final positions in the middle of the table.
The Paarl Region also has important fixtures on the schedule, with Riverstones and Young Gardens among the leading teams. Windmeul United are ninth, while Albions occupy seventh place.
Young Standards, who are sixth, host Drakenstein, who sit 10th. Windmeul United face Albions, while Perel United take on Young Gardens in another fixture involving a team chasing a strong finish near the top of the log.
With some teams already beyond reach in their current positions, the remaining fixtures will centre on the top-eight race, final log standings and the fight to avoid the bottom four. The pressure will be particularly high for teams currently sitting close to the relegation line.
