Western Province Club Rugby Champions Cup Semi-Finals Set for City Park

The Western Province Club Rugby Champions Cup enters its semi-final stage this weekend at City Park, following a hard-fought league campaign and last week’s playoff action. Supporters can look forward to a full day of top-class rugby across the men’s and women’s divisions.

The day kicks off at 10:45 with the women’s semi-finals. Van der Stel Women take on Busy Bees Women, while Brackenfell Women face Blue Jets Women in what promises to be two tightly contested matches.

From there, attention shifts to the men’s fixtures.

  • Super League A: Villagers meet SK Walmers on the A Field at 16:00, while last year’s finalists Durbell go head-to-head with Hamiltons on the B Field in a clash of heavyweights.
  • Super League B: At 14:00, Primrose battle Belhar on the A Field, with Kraaifontein taking on Franschoek at the same time on the B Field.
  • Super League C: Gardens and All Saints lock horns on the B Field, while Young Peoples take on Violets on the A Field, starting at 12:00 on both fields.

Tickets are available via Quicket at just R20 per adult, R10 for children under 12, and R20 for parking. Pensioners can attend free of charge with presentation of a SASSA card.

Parking will be available at Thornton Primary School, Alexander Sinton High School, and City Park (entry via Repulse Road).

With strong rivalries and community pride on the line, City Park will be the place to be this weekend for Western Province club rugby fans.
