Super League A produced the biggest movement around the top six. Villager’s 48–10 home victory over Kuilsrivier, built on eight tries, kept them firmly at the top of the standings with another maximum five-point return. Hamiltons also made a significant move, defeating Brackenfell 39–20 at home after scoring six tries to climb from seventh to fifth. Helderberg’s emphatic 48–0 win over Franschhoek lifted them into third place, while SK Walmers’ remarkable 89–7 victory over Van Der Stel, featuring 13 tries, propelled them from ninth to sixth. As a result, SK Walmers have moved into the top six, Tygerberg have slipped to eighth, and Stellenbosch have dropped from fifth to seventh despite not playing. Brackenfell remain under pressure in 10th following another defeat, while Kuilsrivier stay 11th after their away loss.
In Super League B, the race for the top six tightened considerably. All Saints secured an important 21–14 home win over NTK to move from third to second, while NTK claimed a losing bonus point and remain sixth in an increasingly competitive battle. Belhar were the weekend’s biggest movers, climbing from seventh to fourth after a 36–18 away victory over Young Peoples, earning a full five-point haul with five tries. Hands and Heart also impressed on the road, beating Vineyards 34–19 to move from ninth to eighth and send Vineyards down to ninth. Violets’ 33–13 away win over Bellville lifted them to 10th, while Hamlets’ 50–26 home success against Goodwood moved them into 11th. Goodwood managed to secure a four-try bonus point despite defeat, Bellville dropped to 12th, and Kraaifontein slipped out of the top six into seventh without taking the field.
Super League C saw the leading teams maintain their grip on the standings. Rangers recorded a convincing 37–16 away victory over Atlantis with five tries to remain top of the table. Watsonia responded with a dominant 69–6 home win against Strand United, crossing the line 11 times to stay second and keep the pressure on the leaders. Kylemore claimed a hard-fought 33–24 win over Sir Lowrians in one of the closest contests of the weekend, collecting a bonus point while Sir Lowrians also earned a valuable four-try bonus despite defeat. Strand’s 20–12 victory over Scottsdene lifted them from 13th to 12th, pushing Busy Bees down to 13th. The top six remain unchanged, with Rangers, Watsonia, Kylemore, Pniel Villagers, Gardens and Eersterivier continuing to occupy those positions.
The Central League standings remain unchanged, with Manenberg Rangers leading the competition ahead of Elsies River United and Northerns. Silvertree hold fourth place, Young Stars are fifth, and Temperance-Cities occupy sixth. Silverleaf remain just outside the top six on the same 21 log points as Temperance-Cities, leaving little margin for error as the competition progresses. Bishop Lavis are still searching for their first points of the campaign.
The Northern League also saw no movement in the standings. Blue Stars United continue to lead, followed by Faure, Fisantekraal, Morning Star, Blakes and Stell/Cor in the top six. Several teams remain within striking distance of those positions, ensuring the battle behind the leaders remains highly competitive. Excelsior and Whistling Wheels are still well within reach of the top six, while Cloetesville continue their search for a first victory.
In the Paarl Region, Lower Paarl continue to lead the standings, ahead of Young Gardens, Riverstones and Paarl Rangers. Perel United remain fifth and Young Standards sixth, with Albions sitting just three points behind in seventh. The race for the final top-six position remains finely balanced, while Paarl will be eager to register their first points of the season.
The Southern League standings are also unchanged. Masiphumelele remain at the summit, followed by Blue Jets, Young Wesleys and Retreat. Rocklands continue to occupy fifth place, Peninsula are sixth, and Lagunya sit just outside the top six in seventh. Khayelitsha are still searching for their first points, with the congested middle section of the table likely to produce significant movement in the coming rounds.
In Women’s Division One, the standings remain unchanged. Busy Bees Women and Blue Jets Women continue to share top spot on 21 points, with Brackenfell Women just one point behind. UWC Women remain unbeaten and have maintained a perfect record despite playing fewer matches. Belhar Women and Bellville Women complete the current top six, with every remaining fixture carrying increasing importance in the shortened season.
One of the strongest themes of the weekend was the importance of bonus-point victories. Hamiltons, SK Walmers, Villager, Violets, Hamlets, Hands and Heart, Belhar, Rangers, Kylemore and Watsonia all secured maximum five-point returns, creating significant movement in both Super League A and Super League B. As the season enters its decisive stages, every bonus point is proving increasingly valuable, with the battle for top-six places becoming tighter each week.
