Tygerberg’s 35–34 home edge over False Bay was the tightest contest in the division, and it mattered on the table as Tygerberg moved up to fifth while False Bay, despite scoring five tries and taking two bonus points, slipped to ninth in a very congested mid-table race. Helderberg were dominant in beating Union Milnerton 64–17 at home with ten tries, and that bonus-point win lifted them to seventh, just one point outside the top six. Brackenfell also made upward progress with a 40–22 home win over Primrose, their five tries pushing them up to eighth, while SK Walmers’ 54–8 away win over Franschhoek carried them up to tenth. The biggest mover was Collegians, whose 53–24 home win over Vineyards included eight tries and the full five log points, lifting them into fourth. Hamlets produced the heaviest attacking display in the section with an 87–18 home win over Young Peoples, running in 13 tries and climbing into the top six, which pushed Bellville out of that bracket without Bellville even taking the field in this round. NTK’s 43–32 away win over St Georges, built on seven tries, moved them up to seventh and kept them in the top-six conversation, while Violets’ narrow 24–21 home win over Kraaifontein improved their own position and left Kraaifontein missing a chance to strengthen their place higher up the table.
Super League C produced one of the standout results of the weekend when Pniel Villagers won 31–25 away at Rangers. Manenberg Rangers remain top from the visible log, but Elsies River United and Silvertree both improved their standing significantly with big bonus-point wins, while the fight from fourth to seventh remains competitive.
In the Northern League, the match of the round was Blakes 43–45 Blue Stars United, a superb contest in which both teams scored six tries. Blue Stars United stayed unbeaten and held first place, while Blakes remained second and did well to take two bonus points from such a close loss. Morning Star’s 49–8 away win over Cloetesville added another five points to their challenge near the top, and Stell/Cor’s 46–19 away win at Excelsior, built on seven tries, also strengthened their push in the upper half. Rocklands’ 39–10 home win over Khayelitsha was another good return, with seven tries helping them close the gap on the top six. From the visible standings, Young Gardens remain first, Paarl Rangers remain second, and Lower Paarl and Perel United are now level on points in a tightening chase below them.
