WPRFU News Update 7th April

The WP Club Rugby kicked off with a bang last weekend with several standout results across all leagues.
The second round of fixtures kicks off this Saturday from 13:00 with First Teams kicking off at 15:30.

In Super League A, Brackenfell take on Hamiltons, SK Walmers host False Bay, while Vics and Durbell lock horns in another epic encounter.

In Super League B, Villager host Young Peoples at Brookside, St Georges and Violets lock horns in Gustrouw, Rangers take on Franschhoek at Surrey Estate while Collegians are up against Bellville at Lentegeur.

In Super League C, Raithby take on Busy Bees, Langa host Vineyards, Macassar and Strand lock horns in a Helderberg derby, while Hamediehs host Strand at Vygieskraal.

In the regional leagues, Manenberg Ranger takes on Caledonian Roses in the City League, Retreat host Thistles in the Southern League, while in the Northern League, Blakes host Blue Stars United in Cloetesville.

Blakes will once again be hosting an Easter Tournament in which 16 teams from around the Western Cape will take part in the two-day festival of rugby which starts on the 15th of April. Best of luck to all involved.

Furthermore, the WP Women’s Elite U16 and U18 squads will be training at City Park on Saturday.

The WP High Performance coaches continue with their weekly courses as they look to reach the upper echelons of coaching in WP and beyond. Under the auspices of High Performance Manager Jerome Paarwater, these coaches are gaining the knowledge and experience to enhance their prospects at a higher level.

The DHL Stormers will look to build on their impressive win over the Cheetahs when they host the Chiefs on Saturday 8th April. Kick-off is at 17h15. Good luck to Head Coach Robbie Fleck and the team.
