It was a good night for the WPRFU at the recently held Western Cape Sports Awards.
DHL WP Rugby's flyer Seabelo Senatla walked away with the title of Sportsman of the year at the Western Cape Sports Awards held at the Century City convention center on Saturday night.

While young superstar Juarno Augustus took the prize of Junior Sportsman of the year.

Both athletes will now represent Western Cape at the annual national sports awards later this year.

The WP Women’s Senior Team capped off a remarkable year by defeating reigning champions Border 17 - 15 at the SARU Interprovincial Tournament held in East London on Saturday.

The win caps off a remarkable year for WP Women's Rugby who have won the U18 National Week, as well as the U16 YTC titles.

The WPRFU HUBS Development program continues to create opportunities for kids in previously disadvantaged communities.
It was announced recently that the Islamia High School under 16 sevens rugby team leaves for Malaysia on Saturday 23 September 2017.

The team will be playing in the NS Royal 7's Tournament.

Islamia High is one of the high schools that belong to the Hubs project in the Athlone Region.

In light of the stellar work that the HUBS program is doing, the WPRFU are offering three comprehensive match day experiences for the Test Match between the Springboks and the All Blacks with the proceeds going towards the HUBS Program.

Club-wise, there is a busy few weeks coming up for clubs around the province.
This weekend is the semifinals of the Paarl Region Top 8 Knockout Competition. Faure Street is the venue for the day with the first match kicking off at 14h40.

This weekend's semifinals see Riverstones taking on Young Gardens, while Rangers and Simondium lock horns for a place in the final.

False Bay and Tygerberg are back from their respective Gold Cup tours and will enjoy a well-earned bye this weekend before resuming their pool matches on 30th September. False Bay beat Sishen 35 – 25 while Tygerberg went down to Progress 15 – 17 last Saturday.

It’s all systems go for the President’s Cup Finals this coming Monday at City Park. Six finals will take place with the first games kicking off at 12h00.

Totalsports and Treble will once again support the President’s Cup finals rugby day in their long standing partnership with WP Rugby in support of this premier club rugby competition.
