WPRFU News Update 1st August

August is here and with it comes the home stretch of the WP Club Rugby season.
With most clubs having less than five games to play, each fixture carries with it an added pressure.

Union-Milnerton ran out 38 – 6 winners against Tygerberg at Theo Marais Park on Saturday. Despite the loss, Tygerberg will be buoyed by the fact that they were announced as one of the wildcard entries for the 2017 Gold Cup.

Durbell’s 8-game unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday as they went down 28 – 12 to SLA leaders False Bay, Maties ran out 109 – 7 winners over, Pniel Villagers fared little better against Vics, going down 94 – 3 at home to all but seal their relegation to Super League B, while NTK defeated SK Walmers 15 – 13 to boost their own survival chances.
