Score Seven ready to go

The annual Score WP Club Rugby Sevens championship was launched at the Southern Sun Hotel in Newlands this past Tuesday evening with forty four WPRFU clubs in attendance.
The event, which is once again sponsored by Score Energy Drinks, will begin on Saturday 20 October 2018 at the CPUT Sport grounds with forty four teams and more than nine hundred players in action.

This event is most likely the largest club sevens rugby tournament of its kind in the world, and will once again see each side of twenty two players receive their very own unique set of Score Sevens Rugby jerseys.

The event will roll out over four weeks across four pools played on a round robin basis, after which the top four from each pool will qualify to play in the knockout finals.

The draw allowed for the 2017 pool winners to draw first, which sees overall winners St Georges, Belhar and Brackenfell in separate pools, thus making sure these top teams won’t be going up against each other in the pool phases.

The Score WP Club Rugby sevens event is once again partnered with Cape Rugby TV and will see five weeks of sevens rugby broadcast on the ever popular TV show. Fans can watch the show on Cape Town TV, DStv Ch263 on Wednesday evenings at 9pm with repeats on Saturdays at 9am.

As with the previous years and Sevens Rugby as a highly entertaining form, the event will provide plenty of fan fun with braai stands, the Bashews kids play zone, food stalls and mobile music to entertain the fans and players.
