HUBS a shining light for rugby development

The HUBS development program continues to make the sport more accessible to all parts of the province.
Last week, two Hubs coaches went to help Islamia High School with a training session as they prepare themselves for a upcoming annual Sevens tournament in Malaysia which will be in December.

Islamia is also affiliated with The HUBS project and some of their boys are playing for the HUBS regional teams. Ex-Springbok Jongi Nokwe had some words to share with the boys after the session to help motivate them ahead of the tournament.

Following on from the successful coaching session, the HUBS regional team from Athlone hosted Khayalitsha's u15, u19 boys, and u18 girls team at City Park last week in a full morning and afternoon of rugby.

Furthermore, the Athlone Girl’s Regional team hosted Tygerberg R.F.C Girl’s team at City Park last week as part of a widespread rugby development and relation-building drive.

Due to the increased access and exposure to the sport, the number of girls participating has been on the rise.
